...upon arrival into this ghost town, you saw the FOR SALE sign... and rumors from within that it just sold again for $1.8m.  The last sale was in 2007 when it sold for $3.8m

The area was originally settled in 1877 as farm land. In 1892, the town, getting its first post office, was renamed Albert. In the following years a general store and schools were built, including one school where Lyndon Johnson attended

several of us enjoyed taking pictures by the town's population sign

...and WOW - look at those two 500+ year old Oak trees

we left Albert, heading back up to Hwy 290, a short 17 miles stopping about one mile east of Johnson City to our first winery tour & tasting.  We had originally booked this for Saturday afternoon however, with the detours and such, we didn't make it and they rebooked us for today

Gary (owner) gave us the history of the winery and vineyard along with information on their processing (no oak barrels)

Gary told us about their wines as we enjoyed the tastings

up front, Gary, Kathy and others assisted us with wine purchases

we loaded up and headed on towards our next winery.
Our group shrunk again, with the Gormans, Gills, Hicks, Benwares, McGoverns and Brefczynskis heading on home
