SATURDAY, 10/25/08
lunch reservations were at the Rio Canyon Restaurant, due to the detour, we were now more than 1-1/2 hours behind schedule

...yes Kevin, don't worry, it does go fine with jeans

after 50 miles, heading up Hwy 83 then east on Hwy 39, then 1340, coming from Leakey, we arrived at our next destination, Stonehenge II.  This was an art project by Al Shepperd and his friend and neighbor, Doug Hill- it is 90% as wide and 60% as tall as the original in England
we gathered around the sacrificial alter for a group photo - missing from the photo were David & Ray

Doc, Debbi, John & Jan headed over to take a look and "pick at" at one of the "Easter Island" Moai replicas

time to load up and head on down the road

we headed out 1340 and east on hwy 27 thru hunt & Ingram, back to Kerville

after the long day of fun, several found themselves needing gas so we stopped in Kerville ...then 23 miles east to the Best Western to relax before dinner

Today's Cruise: 325.6 miles

in our 6-speed C5 we averaged 25.6 MPG

...due to the detours and such,
we missed our appointment at Texas Hills Winery, a few of us headed out to Woodrose Winery - a finely packed gravel road was a dust bowl of a road

link to home page The Cotton Gin is located about three miles out of town on
Hwy 16
Mike (GM) had the private upstairs dining room reserved for us again this year
