The July 200%er Event

a few of the Vettes driven for today's social

We waited outside for a while

then moved inside partially to get everyone thru the security checkpoint

Jo Anne gave us the Low-Down and timeline for the rest of the social

Neat art above the main desk

Note: The intent of this page is only to share highlights of the Library - a place that we feel should be of interest & history to be visited

The Tour

Which was on-your own and divided into two halves - the permanent displays and the special temporary display that currently presented "Baseball: America’s Presidents, America’s Pastime"

Starting the tour, you come see displays with Gifts from around the world
These displays contained items from the Middle East and Africa

Items from Asia
Items from The Americas

Items from Europe & Russia

Gifts from the American People

Before splitting off to the various display areas, we watched a short video which played around a square room - very impressive

The Permanent Displays
The life of George W started the Permanent Display side of the Library - most with continuous running videos

You saw quotes from George W & Laura as you went thru the library

most of us remember his huge love for Baseball ...and being a former Texas Ranger Team Owner

Who could EVER FORGET the Terrorism Attack on the US that happened while he was President.  There were numerous heart wrenching displays (with video) that reminded you of that horrific day

Below are two beams from the Twin Towers that fell that day

A replica of the Oval Office as it was while George W was President

complete down to the seal on the ceiling

you could take your own pictures or their photographer took pictures that you could purchase in teh Gift Shop

There was an interactive Kid's Zone which allowed youngsters to explore and learn

Displays of clothing worn to various eventsAir Force One and memorabilia - several of us that raced Waco saw this  plane land there numerous times

Displays of significant activities accomplished during his Presidency

More gifts from other countries

A display on HIV around the world

You could sit in the command center and make decisions on world events

During his presidency there were also numerous National Disasters that happened

an ingenious way to gather photos of people attending the library ...you stand in front of the camera, press the button and then you see yourself on the tree of monitors

The Baseball Display

"Baseball: America’s Presidents, America’s Pastime" shared the date of the first President attending a baseball game ...and the ceremonial pitches - all presidents.

Of course the 2010 World Series which the Texas Rangers played in

Lots of historic baseball displays

These were definitely larger-than-life-size statues of both former Presidents

No pictures form the Archives part of the Library

...time to leave

Lunch Afterwards

as you finished the tour, you were invited to go across I75 to Twisted Root for lunch
