NCCC EVENTS - * CORVETTE SCRAMBLE - 6/14/14 - PAGE 2 OF 2 | Hosted by Cowtown Corvette Club Saturday, June 14, 2014 Photos labeled provided by Doug & Glenda McMahan The Funkhana Doug McMahan was the Chairperson for the Funkhana
To help celebrate Cowtown’s 40th year, it was requested that the Funkhana have a western / cowtown ype theme. The stations used in this Funkhana are simulated to what might be found out on a ranch, giving workers some down-time fun.
this was a non-driving funkhana but officially (per NCCC Rules) a Corvette must be involved in the event, so you started and ended in the Corvette. Each team was allowed to make two runs. Per NCCC Rules, there are four Classes of teams: A=Male / Female, B=Male / Male, C=Female / Female, D=Female / Male
You started by buckling up, then when the starter (Scott) gave the word, you had to start the stop watch, then unbuckle the seat belts and head over to station #1
| START The driver and navigator will start in the Corvette provided, buckled up in their seat belts. When the starter (Scott Wheeler) gives the GO, either team member could Start the Stopwatch, then they will unbuckle and exit the Corvette (leave doors open).
Station #1 – Hat Toss Driver must successfully toss one hat onto the cone; before proceeding. If they miss, the Navigator must bring the hat back to the Driver. Note: NO, You CAN NOT reshape the hat. One Team Member must wear the hat for the remainder of the run.
Station #2 – Rope the Bunny (sorry, we couldn’t locate a Texas jack-a-lope) Driver must lasso the stick bunny before moving to the next station. The Navigator must return the lasso to the starting line before the team can continue to next station.
Station #3 – Washers Navigator must get a minimum of one washer (of 6) in the skillet. The Driver must bring the washers back to the Navigator until they have a minimum of one washer in the skillet. The Driver must return the washers to the starting line before the team can continue to next station. Bonus: if they get more than one in the skillet, they earn a deduct of 1 minute for each washer in.
Station #4 – Boot Shuffle Driver must shuffle 2 boots with their feet, from the start to the finish line. They have the option to shuffle one or two boots at the same time. IF a boot falls over on its side, the boot(s) being shuffled must be returned to the start line to try again. The Navigator must return the boots to the starting line before the team can continue to next station.
Station #5 – Fishing Navigator must successfully catch a minimum of 1 fish from the pond before the team can continue to the next station. Bonus: if they catch more than one fish, they earn a deduct of 1 minute for each caught.
Station #6 – Barbed Ring Toss Navigator must put on the welding gloves. They must then successfully ring mama’s flower pot with a minimum of one barbed ring. The Driver must bring the barbed rings back to the Navigator until they have a minimum of one barbed ring around the pot. The Navigator must remove the gloves at the start line while the Driver returns the barbed rings to the starting line before the team can continue to next station.
FINISH After completing Station #5, the Driver & Navigator returned to the Corvette (leaving doors open), buckle up and then either team member could stop the stopwatch.
