A VERY Rainy Saturday for an outdoor event
...however, NCCC events are rain or shine
|
| ...even with the rain, the Corvettes started showing up along with the workers
Fat Daddy's allowed us to block off the entire front of the building for the Car Show
| | | |
| A HUGE THANKS to Alex (GM @ Fat Daddy's) for allowing us to move the Funkhana under their outdoor dining area (w/awning) | |
| | | |
| | | |
| It was also great that the front door at Fat Daddy's is covered, allowing us to park the C5 with the top off for the Funkhana | | |
| | | |
The Car Show
People's Choice car show, yes, in the rain - they don't melt!
|
| People walking around to vote for their choice for each category in the people's choice car show | |
| | | |
The Funkhana
this was a non-driving funkhana but officially (per NCCC Rules) a Corvette must be involved in the event, so you started and ended in the Corvette.
You started by buckling up, then when the starter (Scott) gave the word, you had to start the stop watch, then unbuckle the seat belts and head under the awning to station #1
|
| | | |
| | | |
| Station #1
Driver had to blow-up a balloon, tie it and then the Navigator had to pop it.
| | | |
| Station #2
Driver had to roll at tire thru a chicane (3 cone), past the finish line; the Navigator then took the tire and leaned it against the pole
| | | |
| Station #3
Navigator had to screw on five lug nuts (so they don't fall off); the driver could hold the hum and/or hand the Navigator the lug nuts
| | | |
| | Station #4 Driver had to screw in four spark plugs (so they don't fall out) | |
| | | |
| Station #5 Navigator had to toss 2 bean bags thru the hole; the Driver could bring the bags back as often as needed | | |
| | | |
| | | |
| Station #6 Driver had to pickup th etrash and throw 2 items in the bucket; the Navigator could bring the trash items back as often as needed | |
| | | |
| After completing Station #6, the Driver & Navigator returned to the Corvette, buckled up and then stopped the stopwatch
Each team was offered two runs
| | | |

The Rallyes
|
| After lunch, Jack (Rallye Master) held the driver's meeting for the Gimmick and Chance Rallye. | |
| | | |
| | Jack & Fred checking the Gimmick Rallye and Poker Rallye sheets | |
| | | |
| While the Rallye Sheets were being checked, participants could sit around and visit | |
