NCCC National Convention in Colorado Springs, CO
Today, Cowtown had 5 Vettes,
1 Metal Car,
10 Members Participating

Saturday after Convention ends, is
the day that friends from around the country say their
goodbyes and the attendees start making their way back
home
several of our members left to head
on to extend their vacation elsewhere, some headed out
early to get on back home on Saturday but not us...

...we were really not ready to leave the mountains yet
so we escaped back thru them to head home - it was
great! |

we headed out of Colorado Springs on Hwy 115 |

|

|

 |
 |
and as we saw the Rockies being left behind, we were
headed into more mountains |

 |

...and you just never know what you will run across -
remember, it is not the destination but what you see
along the way that makes a trip interesting |

...we I planned our route Saturday morning, we were
taking 115 to 69 and then down to I-25 - however, when
we reached Hwy 165, several folks were taking it and a
short distance after turning - we saw the sign for
Bishop's Castle, roughly 20 more miles |

....and when you stand up on the last step in the peak,
you can look over at the ball (shown at the right) |

they say that when he burns the fireplaces in the
winter, the smoke comes out of the Dragon's mouth |

The wrought iron and rock were was amazing - now he is
building a moat around the entire castle |

The further we got away from Colorado, the mountains
turned to hills, then we were in Texas, Amarillo for the
evening
...then on back home Sunday |
