...vettin' on down the
highway
...next
was the Mills County
Courthouse, built in 1913
...departing there we headed to to Zephyr, TX,
where Don & Virginia captured the Z
CCP point. We departed on Hwy 590,
a really fun county road
Next was the Comanche County
Courthouse (built in 1939)
Thanks to Tina at Brennan Vineyards, lunch had been booked at the "Starbeaus"
on the square - good recommendation and choice
After lunch, we made a stop by Brennan Vineyards,
in Comanche. We had setup a wine tasting with
Tina Markin (Hospitality Director), so they were expecting us.
Pat Brennan
(owner) and his wife gave us the history of the winery
and their wines and of course the tastings
Several of us bought wine, then we toured the facility -
a VERY NICE Facility
It is too bad this is so far away - it would be a great place for a club meeting
and/or social
The Winery is also a Historic site itself, the original
homestead (built in 1876),
being the original purchase by the Brennans for their
weekend getaway.
...cruisin' on down the highway
...a few pictures as we
drove thru Dublin, TX
Heading on home, we
stopped to take a look at the Erath Courthouse,
located in Stephenville, TX. This courthouse was
built in 1892 out of quarried limestone.
Confederate Veteran Memorials
Memorials for all the Wars are located here as well
Across from
the Courthouse was a Lawyer's Office,
read the name
The last stop before heading home was at the Hood County Courthouse
in Granbury; built in 1890 out of limestone
We had a great
time this weekend and we thank those of you who joined
us for this great weekend - hope you will join us on the next cruise
