CCP HILL COUNTRY CRUISE - CTV - 11/9-11/07 - PAGE 7 OF 7

Hill Country Back Roads and Winery Cruise

November 9th, 10th and 11th, 2007

Cruise Sponsor: Douglas McMahan

Event Photography labeled Visit MACs Digital Art & Photography Website provided by Doug & Glenda McMahan - thanks to Frank Testa for grabbing the camera at times to snap a few pictures for us (and of us)

Back up at the main building, Fred was checking out the view we all started to sit down for the tasting when we realized we could all squeeze into one table

I had made our reservations for ten more people, 4 that stayed went other directions today and six that didn't make the trip at all from the start

The Diva Tasting was a $5 per person and you did get to keep the souvenir wine glass

Glenda and Ruth clowning around for the camera...

...until the rest came out for the Cruiser Group Photo at Flat Creek - thanks to Madelyn

We toured their B&B next door, which is adjacent to the main offices The pond / waterfall behind the B&B was a little green but would be very peaceful to sit and watch the stars by.

After everyone paid their tab, bought their wine, we loaded up and headed out

It was so peaceful here at Flat Creek that we really hated to leave!!!

...and as usual, this stop took longer than expected and we were off-schedule a little, not to worry, we will alter the plans a little

Time for LUNCH

Karen with Alamosa Wine Cellars had recommended The Yumm Factory for lunch.  Unfortunately we were all tired and we didn't opt to make the last two wineries (Alamosa & Brennan) on the way home - we will catch them another trip.

Carol and Jim had been there a few minutes when we arrived.

We dined outside under the trees and the food was great - good choice Karen

After lunch, we turned the cruise reins over to Frank & Lei to lead everyone home

The roads heading up Hwy 281 are flatter, the turns are not as sharp and the roads are much wider that the Hill Country

Glenda and I broke off up the road and took an alternate back route to Mansfield, grabbing a few final CCP points Have you ever been to Fairy, TX?  ...guess this person didn't get to leave alive

Today's Cruise: 308 miles

we averaged 27.7 MPG

Total Trip Mileage: 813.2

Total Run Time: 15 hours, 28 minutes

THE END
