Tour of Bureau of Engraving and Printing UPDATE: Just a reminder that the tour of the Bureau of Engraving and Printing is this Friday, January 10th. PLEASE be at the mint by 3:30PM so we can start the tour by 3:45PM. This allows for the tour and time to view the exhibits inside. The mint is located on HWY 156 between 287N and Harmon Road. It is the only facility in the United States that is authorized to print money other than the mint in Washington DC. To reach the facility, you can take 35W north to the 287N exit and then exit at HWY 156 (there is a green sign showing the B of E&P) followed by a left turn under 287 onto 156S. You will see the building on the left side of 156. Be aware that traffic on 35W north can be heavy in the afternoon, especially on Friday. An alternate route would be to exit 820 at the Hwy 156 exit and go NORTH on 156 until you reach the mint. There are several lights on 156 (Western Center, Bailey-Boswell, Harmon Rd) but might be less traffic than 35W. It is free to tour the facility. For those that would like to have dinner following the tour, we will drive to BJ's Brewery on 35W north at Heritage Trace. Hope you can join us! If you would like to let me know you are coming, please send an email to me at chickma101@sbcglobal.net. Carlanne Hickman (CTV Social Chairman) ORIG: Have you ever wondered how that dollar bill in your wallet was made? The answer can be found right here in Fort Worth at the Bureau of Engraving and Printing facility on 287N. There normally is no social event in January but I thought it would be fun to take a tour of this facility. Unfortunately the tours are only offered during the week until 4:30pm. I realize not many of you can make it but for those that can I have planned a tour on Friday, January 10th, at 3:30pm. Following the tour we will have dinner at BJ’s Brewery
