A Fun and Well Executed 4-day Cruise
Inbound trip up the Natchez Trace Parkway

Vicksburg battle field. A garden of monuments of all sizes. Vicksburg did not fall to force. It fell to seizure. The city was starved into submission.
   
Texas played a big part in the (losing) battle of Vicksburg; this is the State of Texas Monument.The statue of Colonel Waul and the gun are both pointing to another statue on the Union side.  The gun is pointed at General U. S. Grant. Intimidating even into death
    
The state of Illinois Monument is one of the largest
    
 The U.S.S. Cairo was one of seven ironclad gunboats named in honor of towns along the upper Mississippi and Ohio rivers.
