we ran the course clockwise with a slalom on the back-side
after going thru the "Goodson Loop"
This was held on the 1.4 mile Mako
Circuit Track, reduced to 1.2 miles w/the start &
finish lights
time to get things checked out on the cars
the first ZR-1 to compete in the SWR was at this event -
brand new, still had dealer tags

THEN, the Dreaded Weather
Came In
We had been concerned with the threat of fierce wind and rain all week
...and sure enough, it came in a little before noon as
predicted - lasting the rest of the day - and we say
Racing Challenges By the end of the day, the
cold front had blown in and it was almost sleet pellets
As you can see from above, there was lots of standing
water on the track - which forced you to adjust and find a
new line - thus the Challenge to still go fast
with lakes and a different non-good run line around the
track.
