They told us to hold at 35
MPH Max... with a 5 second departure gap between Vettes
Looking towards the
infield as we went down the East straightaway
Rounding Turn 4, heading
towards the finish line
As we passed pit road, I
heard someone yelling my name - looking over, we saw
Scott Wheeler and Sharon Zschirnt working Pit Security
(orange vests on right)
After our Low-speed lap,
they hold us in formation on the apron between turns 1 &
2
We were hoping they would
take us around once more as a double row - what a REAL
SIGHT that would have made for the FANS!!! ...they
didn't though, as we were escorted off the track and
back out of the infield
We then went back to park
our Vettes to go watch the race
Cathy & Glenda having a
size comparison - thought that was a guy thing
The bleachers were filling
up
the lines from the pits to the bleachers was long
Ramps were setup at the
finish line for these motorcycle dare-devils to jump and
turn flips
The IRL cars were pulled
onto Pit Road for final touches before making their way
to the track.
One
thing I really like about my Nikon is the battery life -
however; I should check it occasionally - guess what, I
hadn't checked it in a while and this is when it
died.
