Practice Autocross - 100%'er - Sunday,
March 13, 2005
We have rec'd board approval to
rent the parking lot at Pennington Field for Cowtown
Vette's Practice Autocross. Pennington Field is located at
1501 Central Drive in Bedford. We chose Pennington
Field opposed to Mineral Wells Airport for it's convenient
location and less wear and tear on tires and our cars in
general. If you're a racer this practice is an excellent
way to kick-off the race season, if you don't race but think you
may be interested this is a great way to see what autocross is
all about. Last but not least, if you think you're not at
all interested in autocross come out to Pennington, jump into
the car with one of our top competitors and see for yourself
what all the talk is about. I urge you to take advantage
of this opportunity. This is a safe and fun way to test your
cars performance and your driving skill.
A practice autocross isn't all
about having a great time, socializing and racing your car.
It's also an event practice. Yes, I know the CTV Event
isn't until September but now is the time to decide what you
would be interested in volunteering for. Some options are
setting up the course, timing, posting times, corner worker,
starter and staging. If for some reason you choose not to
participate in the practice autocross as a racer, please plan to
come out to Pennington, socialize, have some fun and help your
club prepare for the "Best Event of the Season".
Please plan to
attend; the success of this practice depends on member
participation. Worker sign up sheets will be available at the
March membership meeting. Please sign up for one or more worker
positions.
Workers will
communicate with FRS radios. If you have a radio please
bring it to the practice.

• Setup Time: 8:00 AM
• Practice Time: 9:00 AM
to 3:00 PM
• The Pennington Field
restroom facilities and concession which will be open
• There are places to eat
nearby lunch
• Closed toe shoes and
approved Helmets are required for all racers and passengers
• All Vettes will be
"teched" prior to them being allowed to run
• Non-Cowtown Racers can
participate for $15 per racer - ALL Racers
